Hi.  I'm Johnny Strange, and I'll be the youth director at Wilmore Camp Meeting this year.

Let me start with this:  The details for the 2011 program are being worked out, but that doesn't mean you should not be making your plans NOW!Johnny Strange

We'll be meeting on the campus of Asbury University this year, so that's a big positive change for the youth ministry!

Now, let me tell you a bit about myself.

I  was born and raised in  Richmond, KY.  I grew up considering Wilmore as my “second home.”  I can remember coming to visit my aunts, uncles, cousins,  and spending a lot of time with my grandparents at the IGA store.  In the summer of 1986, I gave my heart to Jesus at Wilmore Campmeeting and spent more than 10 years in attendance as a camper, counselor, and later as the assistant director under the leadership of Rick Durrance.

I attended Asbury College from 1991 to1995.  During my time at Asbury, I attended Wilmore UMC and worked on the youth ministry team under the direction of Hule Goddard and Rick Durrance

After graduating College, I moved up to Plainfield, Indiana where I was the first ever youth pastor at Plainfield United Methodist Church.  More importantly, Plainfield was where I met my wife, Jenny.  We got married September 5, 1998.  We spent 2 more years in Plainfield and then moved to Dalton, Georgia for 7 years. I have just recently returned back to Wilmore as the youth pastor at Wilmore United Methodist Church.

I enjoy hunting, fishing, golfing, playing sports and watching NASCAR.  Ale 8 is the greatest drink ever!  I spend most of my free time with my wife Jenny and our son Johnathan (4 years old).

I look forward to serving Wilmore Campmeeting once again in leadership in the youth ministry.
